Alpha Systems Lab Inc. (ASL), a leading developer of PC-based multimedia technologies, has introduced Mobile MegaConference(TM), the industry's first mobile video conferencing solution.
Based on ASL's industry-leading MegaMotion(TM) multimedia video card, Mobile MegaConference transmits and receives data over regular telephone lines and includes a 28.8K modem, easy-to-use video conferencing software and a new version of MegaMotion that has been designed specifically for the Toshiba laptop computers and T6600C/CD mobile multimedia computers.

Unique "White Board" Feature Provides Interactive Workspace. From the Mobile MegaConference system's PC monitor, users can view two True-Color subscreens featuring real time video images of each communicator, and an additional "white board" subscreen that allows users to interact in a two-way shared workspace.Free-hand drawings can be drawn with the system mouse in the "white board" area with a choice of colors and point sizes, and a range of functions, including erasure, clip, crop and paste. Additionally, parties can capture and transmit any displayed screen within a Windows application. Mobile MegaConference also allows users to have concurrent two-way teletype dialoguing (chat mode). Other features include an image database phone directory and speed dial with an on-screen dialing pad. The Mobile MegaConference package is based on a specially designed version of ASL's MegaMotion board that includes a built-in Toshiba Z-connector interface for delivering digital video and VGA images to the T6600C's internal color active matrix display and simultaneously to external monitors (VGA or NTSC). No additional ISA slots are required for this connector. The package also includes a 28.8K modem and video conferencing software. To accompany Mobile MegaConference, ASL offers an optional solid state color camera with a 1/3-inch CCD imager that has a resolution of 542x492 total pixels. The camera outputs NTSC television standard signals, has a built-in 5.6mm, F2.4 glass lens and a built-in microphone. The ASL camera is priced at $395.Mobile MegaConference carries a two-year parts and labor warranty.
